RAW Review: 27th July

Hello! It's another RAW Review- it's almost as if they're a weekly occurrence, weird right? There's a lot to say about various topics throughout this Review today so I'll simply say last weeks RAW was 2 Hours of really good stuff and then the 3rd Hour just completely went off of a cliff so in terms of expectations for last nights episode I wasn't really sure what to expect from the episode so it's quite hard to say whether or not last night lived up to expectations one way or the other.

The Authority & Cena Promo
This was quite strange. I do like The Authority as more neutral figures- I don't know if that's simply because the Heel Authority Figure is possibly the most stale concept in Pro Wrestling at this points, but they're definitely more in the middle than they have been previously. Me being the wordsmith that I am I liken Steph & Trips to that of teachers now, they have their "teachers pet" and there's a few students who are the misbehaving one's who they've taken a dislike to. The Promos were fine, it set up a lot of stuff for the rest of the show and the "theme" of the show was made clear so that was all fine as well.

Big Show v Dean Ambrose
I've watched an unhealthy amount of Wrestling in my life and I've seen some pretty stupid and/or crazy spots. I can safely say after last night I've seen the stupidest spot ever, I just want to know who thought of the spot where Ambrose untied Big Show's shoelaces- only to go off selling in a corner waiting for Big Show to re-tie them (which took forever). What agent was working on the match with them backstage and thought that was a good idea?

The actual story of the match if you want to look at it as some people told me to on Twitter last night if you take everything out of the equation was a good one on balance, but unfortunately you can't take everything else out of the equation. The match was clunky, these two seemingly had negative chemistry with each other and I'm tempted to break something now they're trying to get THE BIG SHOW over as a monster in 20 fucking 15. To cap it all off Big Show destroyed Ambrose so that made Ambrose look weak as anything, then after the match Big Show made himself look like a complete fool- Nobody get's Over... YAY.

Neville v Fandango
This was just weird, everything that took place during the match was decent- but the crowd were just dead and that detracted from the match massively. Then the Stardust Promo was just "meh", I like both guys in this Neville/Stardust feud but they're just treading water until that Amell guy shows up and it's painfully obvious.

Sasha Banks v Paige
This is the first week that this new Divas "Revolution" has started to annoy me. Whoever scripts the Backstage Skits/Promos with the Divas needs to be thrown into the fires of Mount Doom. It was just so unnatural and it was painfully awkward to watch.

The actual match was fine, I'm not expecting amazing things in terms of the in-ring product from the NXT "Divas" yet because they have to adapt to working televised matches multiple times a week. The thing you have to remember is the normal NXT Episodes generally have decent Womens Matches but they're rarely outstanding and then with the way they tape the NXT Women usually get at least a Month in between the end of the Tapings and the Takeover where they can go over every tiny little detail of their match in the Performance Centre multiple times over. Contrast that to when they're on the road and working with different people day-to-day is why I'm not expecting miracles yet, giving time doesn't necessarily guarantee great matches.

THIS WAS WHEN THE SHOW GOT AMAZING.

Rusev, Summer Rae & Lana Segment
I love Rusev. I hated this feud for multiple weeks I'll freely admit it- but ever since Dolph got the kayfabe injury to film something and the focus has been on Rusev and Rusev has been the one to carry the feud it's been great. Rusev's just hilarious, I truly can't do this segment justice- just go watch it, if nothing else than for the Rusev exchange with Summer when they got a Fish out. It was just amazing.

The Lucha Dragons v Los Matadores
I was just about calming down from the hysterics Rusev had me in when they showed they had the PTP on commentary. I was mildly chuckling at some of the stuff Titus said but it was quite disappointing because you could tell they'd told Titus to behave tonight. Then New Day came out and I completely lost it. Everything from the Sign to Kofi's Clapping to Big E for want of a better word prancing down the ramp it was just perfection. I love New Day with all of my heart. NEW... DAY ROCKS, NEW... DAY ROCKS, NEW... DAY ROCKS.

Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper Promo
There is no hope left in this world. The whole day was seemingly hyping the Leo Kruger type thing and it all built to a crescendo with the Adam Rose tweet just before this segment. I never actually thought it would be Leo Kruger, you can go over my tweets- but I had to start hoping given the level of coverage it was getting. But now there's nothing left in this word, I'M DEAD INSIDE... YOU DID THIS.

Becky Lynch & Charlotte v Alicia Fox & Nikki Bella
This was just another solid match, but the fact we're getting two Divas segments- three if you count the Lana and Summer Rae stuff with Rusev as a Divas Segment with all of the Divas having a clear direction storyline wise is most definitely a positive.

Randy Orton v Kevin Owens
As soon as they showed Sheamus was on Commentary it killed the match, without any actual knowledge I'd assume they had Miz and the PTP on Commentary for this segment as much as anything else and to try and convince us that having a person on commentary doesn't mean interference- it failed. You could tell the crowd knew that nothing big was going to happen until Sheamus got involved in some way and that killed the crowd interference to some point. The match itself was fine, but it really felt like they were pacing themselves- which I don't hold against them given the finish. I'm very happy with the 4-Way dynamic assuming that's the way they're going for Summerslam and with it now being 4 Hours there's no excuse other than them not wanting this match to show up some of the other matches on the card to give the match time.

John Cena v Seth Rollins- US Title
I wouldn't have had Seth Tap you know because he's the WWE FUCKING CHAMPION. I was expecting Cena to win tonight so they could give him his "way in" to a match with Seth at Summerslam- but I was expecting like a Top Rope AA or something to end it and for Cena to Pin him. That said, the story of last night was by far the Cena broken nose. I wasn't sure if Cena had stepped in when Rollins went for the Knee or Rollins just went for it and if I'm honest I'm still not sure to be honest. All I know is this got Cena over better than anything else that he did on the show and considering how fucked up his Nose was I can understand why Seth tapped so quickly.

This RAW was definitely a unique episode you have to say that for it.  I'm not sure how good of a job it did to build all of the PPV stuff- but I was definitely entertained, I definitely was entertained. If you'd have told me heading into Wrestlemania that Rusev, The New Day and John Cena matches would have been the most consistently entertaining stuff in the Company I'd have called the men in white coats. But here we are and I love it.

Thanks for reading as always, I think we've got 3 more RAWs until Summerslam now- the notable absences last night were Taker and Brock, I know Brock is showing up next week and I'm just praying it'll be a Heyman Promo with no other stuff added on. There's no way they can top the Taker/Lesnar brawl from last weeks RAW, anything physical by comparison will look stupid and/or weak so they need to avoid that at all costs. That said like pretty much all Three Hour RAWs there were some high points and some low points- but I do have to give credit to WWE because the high points are definitely outweighing the low at present. Thanks again for reading and always remember... NEW... DAY ROCKS, NEW... DAY ROCKS, NEW... DAY ROCKS.

Fulham: Transfer Window Review (So Far)

Hello! It's been way too long, but the Fulham posts are officially back as of this moment all the way through until next May. The thing you definitely have to say with the Confirmed and Rumoured transfers both in and out of the Club is the journey between now and next May is definitely going to be an interesting one.

We're in a very strange situation at the moment with our Transfers and in terms of how our squad looks because of said transfers because there are some areas where we're pretty much set and others where we're light to the point it's almost stupid. Anyway this is probably going to be a long one so I'll keep the aimless rambling to a minimal. I'm going to look at the Confirmed Ins and Outs as well as the Potential Ins and Outs that could still be on the cards and the chances of said transfer happening, and if the transfer would actually benefit the squad.

Confirmed Transfers
Ins
Andy Lonergan- This is an interesting one, and could prove to be a really good bit of business for us. Any signing when the player comes in on a Free unless they're on huge wages (which I doubt Lonergan is) is a very low risk one provided they've got a proven track record at whatever level (or a higher level) they're signing at as Lonergan does. In my Summer Window preview all the way back in May I was speaking about Ali Al-Habsi and Jaaskelainen both for that reason- but without knowing for definite I'd assume Lonergan's come in much cheaper than the two options I put forward and he definitely has the ability to challenge Bettinelli or take over as the #1 if needed (more later).

Ben Pringle- For the same reasons already discussed I'm a huge fan of this transfer, and from the Pre-Season games we've seen so far Pringle is already looking like a very capable player for us. While Pre-Season performances aren't a guarantee of "proper" season success, things like the crosses Pringle's been putting in throughout Pre-Season are just an ability thing and it's definitely something we need after last-season where we only had a handful of people who it seemed actually knew how to cross a ball. The Left-Wing spot is a great area for us heading into the season assuming we've laid the Narrow Diamond to rest with Pringle and Kacaniklic fighting it out over that position and similar to the Bettinelli and Lonergan dynamic both players are extremely capable of stepping up. As I'll discuss in a bit Kacaniklic may have another role to fill this season, but the fact Pringle can play multiple roles as well just makes this a great piece of business.

Tom Cairney- As of right now Cairney is our "marquee" signing, and it's just a great bit of business on our part. Creativity is something we just simply lacked massively last season, and as it was pointed out at the time between Pringle, Cairney and O'Hara we've signed Three of the Top Ten chance creators from last season. The Midfield was simply not good enough last season, and as a result we ended up playing McCormack out of position for most of the season AND HE STILL SCORED 19 GOALS! So the fact we're signing players capable of creating chances in the Midfield for McCormack as well as others gives me a lot of hope for us as an attacking threat this season.

The one thing that I don't know if it's annoying me or just something that I'm resigned to- but the way we're shaping up this season it's looking likely we're either going to play Kacaniklic as the Right-Sided Midfielder which renders him pretty much null and void, which would be a huge shame because Kacaniklic down the Left has looked great this Pre-Season. Or we're going to find ourselves in the position of playing our "marquee" signing of the Summer out of his best position, Sound Familiar?

Jazz Richards- The reaction to this one was definitely more mixed in comparison to the majority of the other transfers we've had this Summer, and I do understand it to an extent. Richards wasn't exactly a shining light when he came in, I'm not going to dispute that- but the fact he came in pretty much directly corresponded with the majority of our team forgetting how to play Football didn't help his settling in process. That combined with the fact we had very little protection for either Full-Back last season means I'm definitely willing to give Jazz Richards a go this season- and in the right system with a Right-Sided Midfielder in front of him I think Richards could turn out to be a great piece of business.

Jamie O'Hara- O'Hara is a strange one, going into the Summer I wouldn't have said "I want Jamie O'Hara" but now we've got him I'm pretty optimistic. O'Hara is definitely going to be a Squad Player, I don't think anyone's disputing that- but from what we've seen from him so far in a Fulham shirt he's definitely looked quite impressive and in a "window closed this minute" scenario I'd have O'Hara lining up next to Christensen against Cardiff. O'Hara isn't going to be everyone's favourite player, but he's 28 and on a 1 Year Deal- we haven't taken a massive risk with signing him and he can definitely be a useful player for us.

Luke Garbutt (Loan)- Our Most Recent signing, and one that's really excited me. We've been light a good Left-Back pretty much since we sold Konchesky, and while there's never a guarantee of success this is the first time since we sold Konchesky that I've seen us sign a Left-Back and actually be excited by it. I don't think Garbutt is by any means the finished article, if he was Everton wouldn't have loaned him to us in the first place but from the limited number of times I've seen him in the Europa League and in the Premier League he definitely looks like a quality player and a top draw signing for us. He definitely needs work from a Defensive Point of View, but with the right Centre-Back next to him and covering that becomes almost a non-issue and he can flourish going forward.

Outs
We've had a handful of Youth Releases that aren't really worth getting into, so for the sake of this I'll only cover the players who have actually played in the first team at some point last season.

Hugo Rodallega- This is a release I'm sure we all saw coming, in terms of all the players we released/let their contracts run down Rodallega was the one who could have contributed the most this upcoming season without a doubt. Hugo was such a hot and cold player for us it was stupid and in Hugo's case the money he was on simply wasn't good value for us and the 2 Months he would perform well in.

Tim Hoogland- You'll know my thoughts on Hoogland when it comes to what position he should have been played in last season if you were reading my Previews/Reviews for pretty much the whole second half of the season. That said in the roles Kit was intent on playing him in he simply wasn't good enough for us and with his age surely playing a factor it was definitely not a shock to see him go.

Gabor Kiraly- RIP Tracksuit Bottoms.

Chris David- Chris David like someone who'll be discussed in a bit was a strange one in that a lot of people would argue he should have been used more last season- and there's others (like me) who'd argue that they were a lot more style than substance and especially with his rumoured attitude problems I'm happy we're seeing the back of him. I don't question the fact he had ability- but there's a stupid number of people with perceived ability that simply aren't able to make the grade.

Adil Chihi- With the exception of Kay Voser (who it appears Kit actually does see some value in) this release was the last one of "his" brainwave signings that were a combination of stupid and just not good enough to even be a squad player for us right off the bat.

Maarten Stekelenburg (Loan)- This was a strange one, my initial reaction was just a groan and asking why we hadn't just sold him. But considering his wages I think we were just happy to get them off of our books in any capacity. It's definitely going be interesting how he performs at Southampton for the first half of the season (give or take) when he has a proper run in the team with a pretty solid defence in front of him- both of which he never had for us for a variety of reasons. I'm not saying he's going to be amazing for them, but for those of you doing Fantasy Football this season he could be a pretty decent shout up until January.

Bryan Ruiz- This transfer was one we all saw coming, but I couldn't help but get a little sad that we finally had seen the end of Bryan in a Fulham shirt. While he was definitely not everyone's cup of tea for his whole tenure at the Club there were certain points last season where we definitely saw the best of him in a Fulham shirt and it was a joy to watch. That said if he hadn't have left this Summer I think there'd be an agent found in a ditch somewhere in Costa Rica, so it was best for everyone that he finally moved on.

Patrick Roberts- By far our biggest sale of the Summer, both in terms of Fee and Profile as well as general mixed reactions. I said all the way back in May that if we got 10mill for Roberts I'd sell him without a shadow of a doubt I believe my exact words were- and I stand by that now that it's happened. Roberts has the potential to be a great player I don't dispute that- if for some reason there are some City Fans reading this I'm not saying you've got a dud. However he played nearly two dozen games in some capacity last season and other than a few things that would look good in a YouTube compilation his only tangible contribution was winning a Penalty when we were already 3-0 up against Sheffield Wednesday. So if there was any such thing as a Win/Win/Win transfer this was it- we got a pretty good fee for an unproven (at Senior level) player, Roberts got the move he clearly wanted and City got their player and with the rumoured add-on structure there is if he succeeds at City then he'll pretty much pay for himself- and if he doesn't a 5-6million outlay for a club like Man City is a drop in the ocean anyway.

Ryan Williams- Our latest bit of business at the time of writing this. I don't know how to feel about this one in all honesty, what I saw from Williams last season I liked but he played a minimal amount of games for us so I don't think it would shock many or hit the team hard now he has gone.

At this stage on July 26th 2015 I'm pretty much over the moon with how this Transfer Window has gone in terms of confirmed transfers. We've strengthened a number of areas we were weak in last season and gotten some of our highest earners off the books as well as some sizeable fees with which we will (hopefully) reinvest into the club. That said there's still some areas we definitely need strengthening and while we still have a reasonable amount of time with which to address those areas as every day passes you do start to get a little more worried.

Possible Transfers
Ins
Lewis Dunk- It's funny I spoke about Dunk back in May when the initial rumours about him first surfaced and I can pretty much Copy & Paste what I said in that post into here and it still be relevant

"Now we're moving onto someone who's been firmly linked with us over the last few weeks. I'm not sure why Brighton would sell to us in all honesty unless we put in a bid that was too good to reject, which I'm not really sure Dunk merits at this stage. That's not to say I wouldn't want us to sign him but I've seen 4million being banded around for him and to me we could get much better value for money for that 4million."

I stand by everything I said in this. It's especially relevant now we've had a rumoured 4million bid rejected it's getting to an almost ridiculous point. We're in desperate need of at least one Centre-Back and other clubs know that, which just naturally drives the price up of any Centre-Back we're after. I hate to praise Brentford, but in Bjelland they've gotten a top-draw Centre-Back for around 2million off the Continent and we should be looking in that direction in my opinion. For me we should do one more take it or leave it at 5million and then if it isn't accepted we just move on, because however good Dunk is- for 5million we can get an equally good player if not better to fulfil the same role.

Eric Botteghin- Speaking of better value from the Continent, in comes Botteghin. I don't claim to have watched Groningen every week- but going off what I've seen both in terms of reaction when the rumour came out and from his Statistics (which seem to be our driving force when it comes to incomings this window) he'd be a top quality player for us. The rumours have died down now so it might be a non-runner now, but he's definitely a name that should be discussed and hopefully if we give up on Dunk seriously pursued. I was speaking a bit about Brentford earlier, and another name I saw being banded around was James Tarkowski- I personally can't see it and as with the Bidwell and Diagouraga links at various points this summer it's just to get the fans talking.

We're at least One Centre-Back away from being contenders to be in the mix for the Top 6 and at the very least Top 10, I would argue two because none of our current Centre-Backs are good enough to be starting against Cardiff, but with a better partner perhaps any of the three we currently have would look better.

Kevin McDonald- McDonald is a strange one, I'd love for us to sign him and with the rumours that have come out over the last month or so it seems like we are interested. That said I think similar to the Matt Ritchie links in January we're just being used as a means to an end with regard to the player in this case McDonald using our interest to get a new contract at a much higher offer than was presumably on the table before we were interested. That's not necessarily to say us signing McDonald is an impossibility if Wolves don't bite when it comes to said Contract Offer and as of writing this the latest news was the Contract Talks had stalled between the two- but I get the feeling McDonald (or rather McDonald's Agent) is playing the game at the moment.

Adrien Trebel- The word "consistent" is seemingly the word that best describes Trebel judging from the reaction when the link came out that we were interested. With some of the rumoured teams interested in him it would definitely be a coup for us if we were to get him. While another Central Midfielder is by no means top of the priority list if we have the opportunity to sign someone like Trebel we might as well take it. With Cairney possibly being shipped out to the Right-Mid spot (and no links as far as I can tell for a Right-Mid) it all comes down to the Formation we're going to play- and if said Formation could accommodate Trebel as well as Cairney and Christensen without being unbalanced then I'd be all for it.

As far as actual links these are the only one's I'm aware of at present. Now we've gotten Garbutt in it really is just Centre-Back that we're in desperate need of heading into the season- any other signings are a bonus. That position could change depending on who leaves between now and September, we could definitely use a Right-Mid but as already spoken about that doesn't seem likely at this stage. All of this could of course change between now and September and our needs may change depending on who goes between now and September, so without further ado...

Outs
Marcus Bettinelli- I'm still convinced that I started this rumour back in April after the Rotherham game. If you have the time and can be bothered search "Bettinelli Chelsea" on Twitter and the first mention is from me, but I may have just picked up on something that was already in play. I'm not saying there's no chance we're going to sell Bettinelli- because that would be a lie, the fact is with 1 Year left on his Deal and no guarantee he's going to re-sign if we're offered the right deal we might end up taking it. However I would hope Bettinelli is smart enough and has the right people surrounding him to know at this stage going to Chelsea would either mean going to Vitesse Arnhem or fighting it out for 3rd Choice with Blackman and Delac neither of which would be ideal for his development.

Fernando Amorebieta- From what I can work out there haven't been any links with him as of yet, but given he's on his Holiday at this stage (although I think I saw a tweet where he said he was in London, so he's possibly joining up tomorrow) as far as I can work out after the Copa America (where he did his best to completely shaft Venezuela) and that may have played a factor. Amorebieta isn't someone we can in any way rely on, but if he does end up staying and the window closed tomorrow I'd be starting him over the 3 main Centre-Backs we have once he's back and sharp which presumably won't be in time for Cardiff so chances are not until the End of August or after the September International Break.

Thomas Eisfeld- Eisfeld's such a shame, at the time we signed him I spoke to a few Arsenal supporting friends and they really rated him. However for whatever reason it just didn't work out for him here and with the links with him going back to VfL Bochum permanently it may well be the end of Eisfeld's uneventful and disappointing Fulham run.

Scott Parker- For the record I can't see the rumoured Bournemouth interest coming to anything, and again it's just the Papers seeing a vague link in this case Parker's relation to Harry Arter and just deciding to make a story out of it. I wouldn't be against getting rid of him, because Parker isn't a 46 Game a Season player- but if we use him right as he showed against Derby he can be still be a valuable asset to us, and with the number of Midfield Options we have I think we're definitely taking a step in that direction.

Moussa Dembele- This has been a strange link, because I personally don't think we saw nearly enough from Dembele last season for him to be meriting the interest of seemingly half of Serie A and Everton among a few other teams I'm sure I've missed. However I do hope Dembele stays because he had a quality showing against Derby and then just vanished- and as I'll discuss with the next player in this section he's definitely a valuable player to have in terms of our overall Striker dynamic in my opinion.

Kostas Mitroglou- If you'd have told me we would nearly be in August and there would be a chance Mitroglou might end up in a Fulham shirt I would have had you sectioned. But here we are, I'll preface this by saying I see it as pretty much impossible that Mitroglou lines up for us this season- however he could be such a quality player for us if he were to stay. Just the idea of Mitroglou and McCormack lining up next to each other get's me excited, that would without a doubt be the best Strike Partnership in the League- and as previously said with the players behind without a doubt being capable of creating opportunities for that Strike Partnership we could be a real force if he were to stay.

I've seen a lot of people reacting to the teams we've been playing while in Austria and saying that this means Mitroglou isn't going to stay, like I've repeatedly said I don't think he will- however he's only had two weeks Training with us. Mitroglou missed all of the Strong-Man stuff we did as well as the majority of the Pre-Season training we've done at this stage. If he's still here next Saturday I'll definitely be more expectant when it comes to Mitroglou's involvement but for now I'm not in a desperate need to see him in the team and I understand why he isn't near the team yet.

A Striker Dynamic of McCormack, Mitroglou, Dembele, Woodrow and Smith as a Five with Adam Taggart as another option we're pretty much set. However like I said it's still pretty much impossible that Mitroglou plays for us this season- but then again last Summer I was saying the same about Ruiz.

Again these are all of the links that I've seen, but chances are I will have missed a few so feel free to give me a shout and tell me the ones that I've missed.

This Summer has been pretty much the antithesis of last year in that the players we've signed have been few and far between and the ones we have are proven in some capacity at either this level or a higher one and crucially you can see how all of the signings will fit into the team dynamic and be useful. However as I've said repeatedly just because up to this point we've had in my opinion a pretty good Summer it shouldn't mean we sit back and relax because there's areas we're still in desperate need of strengthening between now and when we head down to Cardiff.

I made my opinions when it comes to Kit clear for all to see at the back end of the season, and I still have doubts over Kit's ability. That said Pre-Season has looked promising and we've been playing some really good stuff so I'm willing to put my feelings on ice when it comes to Kit and fully back him for the time being, and I just hope he gives me no reason to revisit them.

Thanks for reading, I'm not sure how much crossover there is (if any) between my two topics- so I just work on the basis of it being a completely different audience. That said these Fulham Posts are back and they're here to stay, I'm sure there'll be weird points in the Season when it comes to being able to write them (I'll try and avoid Glass Tables this Season) but hopefully I can cover all of the games in some capacity this season as well as a few "bonus" one's at varied point. Thanks again for reading, and let's just hope we see a much better season than the last. Let's face it, it can't get any worse- can it?

Destination Impact Review: 22nd July

Hello! It's another Impact Review, and as you'll see as we progress through this Review I'm justified with my end statement and what I'm doing with these Impact Reviews. Right I'm pissed off, so let's just get to the Review.

Jeff Jarrett HOF Video Thing
The show started with Dixie fucking Carter coming down to the ring with a Mic. Yet somehow the show managed to sink lower and lower and lower the longer the show went on.

The Jarrett HOF thing is fine, at least he's a "TNA" guy in that he was there at the start.

Bram v Magnus
Right Then. First point. Magnus is gone, they knew he was going at these tapings. Yet they had Magnus effectively beat Bram, one of the very few people in TNA who's staying. Can someone explain the logic here? YOU PUT OVER THE FACT SOMEONE LEAVING CAN OUT-WRESTLE AND BEAT SOMEONE WHO'S STAYING. I'm not even going to get into the fact they had a bloody Ref Bump in the Opening Match on the show and a stipulation match with weapons and violence, it's all just stupid. That's what this whole show was- just completely stupid.

Speaking of stupid, James Storm came out to further this godawful angle. But more of that later.

Eli Drake Promo
This wasn't the best promo ever, it was decent and it got the job done. That said this Promo/Segment with Eli and Galloway was like The Undertaker/Lesnar segment from Monday in comparison to the rest of the show.

Taryn Terrell, Brooke & Gail Kim Segment
This segment was laughably bad. I know there's some people who like Taryn as a Heel- and it's like I've said at some points I blow hot and cold with Taryn's character and for me this was a cold moment. It started off fine with Taryn coming out and being pissed, that bit was fine. Then she got in a Cage and said she was going to hold the show up. What? Either TNA are hopelessly incompetent and just blindly assembled a cage for Taryn OR The Dollhouse built the cage. This made no sense to me. Then Brooke came out and it just got worse. Brooke is decent at best on the Mic and I suppose she was meant to I suppose take the piss out of Taryn and antagonise her, What a Great Babyface. She went out there and took the piss out of someone who's clearly crazy with the sole purpose of rubbing it in. Then Gail Kim showed up, and because Gail's got new gear and a slight variation on her theme she now possesses magic powers. Gail then went on to beat up both of the Dollhouse Members for about 3 Minutes straight while Taryn was in tears and Brooke laughed. So the Dollhouse members can't be taken seen as a legitimate threat ever again, I guarantee you Jade and the other one will take out Brooke on their own in one of the next few weeks.

King of the Mountain Recap
I know the stuff with Hernandez happened and that's the reason for this. But this Match Recap went 3 fucking segments. They edited down the James Storm/Magnus match to about 6 Minutes which was smart- because they didn't give away the whole match of which someone may well have paid for. But the Main Event, which is by definition the selling point and focal point of a show was shown in it's entirety. If I paid for Slammiversary I would be pissed. IT WENT 3 FUCKING SEGMENTS. As of writing this I don't know the Rating that TNA did or the Quarter Hours but I'd love to see them for this. A PPV MATCH REPLAY WAS THE SECOND HOUR LEAD-IN. OH MY GOD.

Tigre Uno calls out Donald Trump
OH MY FUCKING GOD. This fucking thing- it's not an angle, calling it an angle would imply there's actually going to be a Payoff from it. There's literally no chance of there being any kind of payoff from this. It's just using up air-time. The thing with Tigre in Mexico was such a generic promo, you can tell even Tigre doesn't give a fuck about this thing. This whole thing is just for I suppose publicity/getting media attention, but guess what CLICK THIS LINK https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=donald+trump&tbm=nws LITERALLY NO NEWS OUTLETS HAVE PICKED THE STORY UP. SO NOT ONLY IS THIS NOT AN ANGLE WITH ABSOLUTELY NO PAYOFF GUARANTEED, IT'S A NON-ANGLE WITH NO PAYOFF THAT'S NOT EVEN GETTING THEM ANY MEDIA ATTENTION. TNA EVERYBODY.

James Storm introduces Serena
So the main purpose of Bram effectively losing to Magnus before shenanigans ensued to make Bram win was to set-up the James Storm attack/Announcement Angle later on in the night. This was that angle and if you look at it it's just completely stupid. I know Storm was in one of the matches they taped last night so he's not completely done with TNA, but let's think about this- James Storm is on a Pay-per-Appearance presumably and he could go at any time, Magnus with the way he's been talking appears to be "done done" with TNA. Mickie James might still be with TNA I can't speak for her- and Serena retired from Wrestling in the last week or two. THAT IS THE BIG ANGLE HERE.

Eric Young v Rockstar Spud- Chain Match
Why was this a Chain Match? These two are in such a blood feud they apparently needed a Chain Match to suitably settle it. At least EY won.

Matt Hardy v Bobby Roode- #1 Contender Tables Match
This was a Main Event, and it was a 7 Minute Tables match with absolutely no heat on it. Oh yeah, it was a random stipulation match with absolutely no build or feud surrounding it. I wish we could do a Freedom of Information act claim on TNA to find out if Vince Russo is still under contract, I genuinely can't think of anyone else who could be this stupid. The Ranking system is complete bullshit seeing as Hardy was #1 without actually winning a match after Jeff got injured off the top of my head, and Matt Hardy. MATT HARDY IS #1 CONTENDER FOR A WORLD TITLE IN 2015. TNA EVERYBODY.

I've calmed down somewhat from last night when I just completely went off on one- if you missed my "coverage" of Impact last night I'd recommend looking back at it to just see what last nights Impact did to me before I could calm down and sleep some of it off. With that in mind I'm giving you this next statement. I'm not a TNA basher- you can look over all of my Impact Reviews I always give credit where credit is due no matter what company is putting on the show. Last Night's show was just so completely awful I feel compelled to do something. After I put this Review up and do my usual plugs for it I'm officially done with TNA for two weeks. Basically from when I do my Last Plug for this Review tonight all the way through until the start of the 12th August Impact I'm completely 100% done with TNA. I won't mention it, I won't watch it, I won't make Bram jokes. I am completely done with Impact for two weeks.

Thanks for reading as always, this show was just SO bad. I've watched a lot of shit Impacts- I've been going on a run of watching pretty much every Impact available online and there were some awful one's even in direct comparison to this one. But this show was just so incredibly bad I had to do something. I don't know what I'll do for my Thursday Review next week- if there's something you want me to Review give me a shout. I might just do a Total Divas review, because at least that's so bad it's funny. This Impact was just so bad you couldn't even laugh at it. Thanks again for reading, and sorry for my Mini-Meltdown on Twitter last night and to a lesser extent on this- I hope it was coherent enough to the point it was at least readable. I should have just had some Clap Therapy.

RAW Review: 20th July

Hello! It's another RAW Review- I know, 2 in a row now! Battleground was interesting, I was saying leading in that this had the most expectations on it of any WWE Pay-per-View all year, so it perhaps wasn't a surprise that it didn't live up to the high bar that was set for it- that said it did generate buzz for last nights RAW and while I haven't seen the ratings I would assume it did it's intended job so more power to it. With said buzz generated it was now a matter of following through and giving the fans a product they wanted to come back to week after week and encourage people to get the Network for Summerslam, so the question is- did it?

The Undertaker Promo
This is a weird one. For me Taker was never a great promo, I love Taker but his character has a certain mystique surrounding it- and when he talks he loses a bit of it for me. I don't know if that's because of his accent or just in general it just never clicks for me. Last Night wasn't an exception, the actual content wasn't the best- it sold the motivations of Taker which was fine but apart from that it just felt like a bit of a ramble on the part of Taker and the delivery was just quite weird (and not good weird). That said the crowd were popping when they were meant to pop and were into it, so maybe I'm wrong.

Charlotte v Brie Bella
This match annoyed me way, way more than it should have done. Brie Bella is a case of you can see they've trained and tried to improve- she's just awful. Some of her selling is genuinely laughable, and as The Bellas were sure to point out THEY'VE BEEN DOING THIS FOR 8 YEARS. HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW HOW TO SELL A CHOP?! That said it was still a fine match to put Charlotte over in- I'm assuming that Becky is still a bit banged up given the logical thing to do would have been to have Becky in the Singles and Charlotte in the Tag seeing as Charlotte wrestled on the PPV.

Los Matadores v The Primetime Players
The PTP lost, and that made me happy. The match was fine for it's intended purpose and we got to see New Day being amazing for a bit- so everyone's happy! I might be reading too much into it, but the Matadores can claim they deserve a Tag Title shot now so I've got a feeling we're going to see another 4 Team match most likely on the Pre-Show at Summerslam in pretty much a repeat of Mania. I don't know when the Injured Uso is back but if not them they can work it so The Ascension or The Lucha Dragons are the 4th team.

Big Show v The Miz
Miz's character can afford a loss- that's not the issue I had with this segment. Why on earth is Big Show squashing people in 2015? This makes absolutely no sense to me. Also I'm pretty sure we got another turn somewhere in this.

The Undertaker & Brock Brawl
This is where this RAW got absolutely amazing. All of the little backstage things with Triple H in some form whether it was with Steph, with Heyman or rallying the troops so to speak all to hype this segment was so worth it.

The Heyman Promo was great, but what's new? He just sold this feud perfectly and managed to hype this up like nobody else could even possibly do so. Then this went to a whole other level.

The Taker/Brock brawl was arguably the best we've ever seen on RAW ever. It was all played to complete perfection, whether it was the commentators just going "Nope" when Brock came out to just the completely hectic nature of it. This one of those times that I can say a lot about it- but none of it will do it justice so just go watch it. The "I'll Kill You" (by the way, that was great on it's own- it differentiated Brock even further) "You're Gonna Have To" line is all you need for this whole feud. Just Replay that line for the next few weeks and we're set. But Yeah, I've probably done a horrible job selling just how great this was- GO AND WATCH IT, NOW. RIGHT NOW.

Also a couple of small things, It was hilarous that R-Truth of all people was the one in the closest proximity to Brock trying to talk him down- but I wish it would have been Axel what with Brock being so close to Mr. Perfect. It's nuanced stuff like that which I notice and really love because it shows they've put genuine thought into it. Also Brock randomly flipping a table in the Backstage section of this brawl when it wasn't even in his way was just amazing, and to an extent it reminded of when Owens was running away and still took time to kick Alex Riley. He just get's it. Shock Announcement, Brock Lesnar get's it.

Roman Reigns v Luke Harper
I really liked this match. It's now two nights in a row that I've been massively into a Roman Reigns match- maybe this is the corner turning moment for Reigns when it comes to me? Then again if what happened later is anything to go by Vince will be sure to cut that firmly off. The Promo before was great, it's amazing how much better Bray Wyatt is when he's actually got something to sink his teeth into- and it was good to see Harper get a few words in. Then the actual match was great, they actually told a story which appears to be the big hang-up in WWE. Reigns fucked his arm up, Harper then proceeded to work the arm for the majority of the match. Crucially REIGNS SOLD IT THE WHOLE TIME. I love Ambrose, but he's one of the biggest offenders in what I call "selective selling" in that they're meant to be selling say a Leg and they do an amazing comeback where the leg is fine- and then they suddenly remember "Oh Yeah, I'm meant to be selling the leg". I didn't even have an issue with the DQ Finish because it keeps the story going- and both sides at one point were firmly on top in the after-match brawl so it keeps the dynamic balanced.

Quick Point, If they are angling for a 6-Man Tag of Reigns/Ambrose/Sting v Wyatt/Harper/???, then I would love and I mean LOVE for them to give Adam Rose to Bray and make him Leo Kruger. For me that's almost too perfect of a fit/storyline. That said if they were going to pull the trigger on a "Leo Kruger" transition I think they'd have done it directly after the ESPN thing.

It was at this point the whole show completely went off a cliff.

Rollins & Cena Promo
I've loved Cena for the majority of this year, At this stage he's had at the very least 4 proper Match of the Year contenders- and at this stage been in my Match of the Year without a doubt in the Triple Threat at the Rumble. I don't think many people could argue that in terms of ring-work and general performance this year has been the best of Cena's career. It's been Cena's best because he's been Midcard to Upper-Midcard working with the "Young Guys" and doing his absolute best to make the US Title mean something again, and I think the Internet genuinely had started to appreciate Cena.

WELL THAT'S ALL GONE OUT THE WINDOW NOW. I'm still not 100% sold on it actually being Rollins v Cena at Summerslam, I don't know if that's just wishful thinking though. I can't say I'm not in any way interested in a Title v Title sort of feud because it's an interesting dynamic without a doubt- but it's just absolutely horrible timing.

Sasha Banks & Naomi v Paige & Becky Lynch
This was a fine match, Sasha Banks is just a complete star- and she's only 23. She does all of the little things perfectly and that just makes her overall performance that much better than pretty much any of the other Divas. That said I can't say I really liked this match because The Bellas were on Commentary and JBL was talking about the nWo (No, Really). In short the Commentary actively took away from the in-ring product, I know that may shock some of you.

Summer Rae, Rusev & Lana Backstage thing
Rusev is amazing. He's such a great goofy heel. When he was kissing Summer and just opened his eyes and stared directly at Lana I absolutely howled with laughter. Rusev has just been amazing since his return from injury.

John Cena, Cesaro and Randy Orton v Kevin Owens, Sheamus and Rusev
I honestly don't know what to think about this match. It was such a House Show match, but at the same time it's been ages since we had this sort of match with the Babyfaces standing tall to end the show that in a weird way it was actually quite refreshing. I suppose we can now add Sheamus and Rusev to the people Owens is feuding with- and there was a great moment when Owens was about to leave and he kicked Rusev and Cena just shouted "I'm okay with this" at him. The finishing sequence was fine and I had to laugh at Orton sort of marking out for himself after he hit that Slingshot RKO.

If I had to have one issue- and I'm pretty sure 99% of you will know where I'm going with this seeing as I've repeatedly gone on about it. RUSEV IS A HEEL. STOP HAVING HIM PLAY THE SYMPATHETIC FUCKING BABYFACE. It's surely got to be a rib at this point having Rusev put in a role where he comes off as the Babyface over and over and over. I'm not saying it's a rib on Rusev, I'm saying it's a rib on me!

Last Nights RAW was so strange. If it cut off at the end of the Reigns/Harper match and aftermath brawl thing I'd have been calling it the best RAW of the year by an absolute mile- then the third hour happened, and much in the way of the Night after Mania the 3rd Hour completely took away from the first two.

Thanks for reading as always, these next few weeks leading up to Summerslam are definitely going to be intriguing and I'll be here every step of the way for them. So I hope if you've read and enjoyed any of these recent posts then you keep coming back every step along the way. Now we wait with baited breath and just pray that it isn't going to be Cena v Rollins. Then if it is, we all know what we'll need to do to calm down. NEW... DAY ROCKS, NEW... DAY ROCKS, NEW... DAY ROCKS.

Battleground Review

Hello! It's the Battleground Review! With all of the rumours flying around heading into last nights PPV it's like I was saying in my Predictions- there was a certain level of expectation on last nights PPV that to put it simply not many have. That said, it was still a WWE PPV so they were bound to fuck a few things up- so let's just get straight into it.

Pre-Show: King Barrett v R-Truth
I actually liked this quite a lot. The match was fine- and at least for me the false finishes actually meant something because I was convinced Truth was going to win last night, and can you really blame me for that? The match itself was fine- and it's like I said last Monday when we had another of those stupid segments involving these two that Sunday was the end-game so I could stomach it. I'm going to tell you right now I don't have high hopes for King Barrett going forward, but presumably being in a "new" feud now can only help him.

The only other thing of note on the Pre-Show was New Day crashing the panel and just being their usual great selves- but more on that later.

Randy Orton v Sheamus
As soon as it was announced Orton v Sheamus was first you knew Orton was winning, so that's almost a non-issue in the grand scheme of things. It's like I said last night- Sheamus SHOULD have won this given the fact his character is in desperate need of legitimacy after he got the Briefcase and Orton is in a really weird position on the card. I was saying right from the start of the latest incarnation of this feud that Orton was the perfect opponent for Sheamus because Orton is a legitimately made "superstar" who can afford a loss- so of course that completely went out the window. I actually liked the match, this isn't me being a Sheamus defender or whatever you want to label it was- the pacing was a bit slow, but the match was worked stiff enough to at least get me involved to an extent. It was just a solid match designed to get the crowd firmly into the event by giving them a home-town win- so it was job done.

Primetime Players v New Day- Tag Titles
This is where I'm gonna get angry. Let's get it out of the way, Titus O'Neil is a nice dad- I'm sure his kids are very, very happy. Now that's been firmly established if it hadn't already- WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY DOING WITH NEW DAY?! Nobody, literally nobody- not even Titus and Darren can honestly say the PTP are a better act than the New Day. You only have to gauge the crowd reactions, New Day has pretty much the whole building booing them and doing the "NEW DAY SUCKS" stuff, the Primetime Players had about 7 white people doing the "Millions of Dollars" dance.

Now we get onto the match. If you asked to tell you what happened in the match before the build up to- and the finish I couldn't tell you. Xavier Woods was absolutely amazing in this match- and he wasn't even in the match. The first time I properly noticed it was a few months ago when he did is "Why, We're Winning" line when they were facing KiddSaro. Since then I've pretty much made a point of listening out for Xavier- and he is seriously one of the highlights of any show he's on. Between "WORST LEG DROP EVER" to "TRICEP MEAT" to him acting like a little kid who's just been told he's getting an Xbox for Christmas excited when Big E was getting ready to whip Darren into Kofi's boot on the outside it's just amazing. If you haven't seen last nights PPV yet, go and get the WWE Network right now- Xavier is worth the 9.99 for this month on his own. If I take off my "New Day Rocks" cap and looked at the finish objectively it was without a doubt a really well worked finish, and I give credit to them for that. BUT COME ON, SERIOUSLY?! NEW... DAY ROCKS, NEW... DAY ROCKS, NEW... DAY ROCKS.

Bray Wyatt v Roman Reigns
You lot seriously have no idea how excited I was when Harper took out Reigns, I was convinced it was Ambrose- and with my Prediction of said Ambrose turn for last night if it had come off I would officially be a wrestling god. That said we got Harper which I'm more than fine with because any time Luke Harper's on TV it's going to be good. It also gives us a fresh pairing in Roman and Harper between now and Summerslam, and if given time those matches could be top draw.

Now onto last nights match. I actually liked it, even as a Bray mark I'll admit I didn't have high hopes for this match and it went really well. Looking back I don't even know why I was expecting a dodgy match out of these two. The whole thing of "X" knows "Y's" moves inside out is a played out concept- but they worked it really well here- most notably with the Apron Dropkick/Clothesline Spot that had me cringing just because you felt the impact, and this was one of those days I'm sure Roman was glad he's still wearing the Vest. Like I said before, I actually really liked this match, and in terms of individual performance for me Bray stole the show tonight with only really Xavier coming close.

I still maintain my idea for an Ambrose turn would have been better in terms of garnering a reaction from the live crowd, giving Reigns (and Ambrose) a meaningful feud for Summerslam and getting interest in the show. This direction would also have made it clear where they're going for Summerslam with Roman- leaving it free for Bray to go after Sting which was the rumour. I just can't see how all the pieces will fit together now.

Charlotte v Brie Bella v Sasha Banks
I really liked this whole segment, the little backstage interview/hype things being peppered throughout the night were a good way to hype it up all things considered. I'm still fine with Stephanie seemingly appointing herself as the Divas GM because after all she's been involved in some way or another in Main Event level feuds for nearly 2 years now so it's some good exposure for the Division.

The match was pretty good- and by "Divas" Division standards that means it was amazing. I wouldn't have this as Match of the Night as some have suggested because in my opinion Bray/Reigns and Cena/Owens was better- but the fact it's even in that debate says a lot. There were a couple of blown spots- the most notable one being when Fox and Nikki didn't catch Brie and that could have been ugly but overall it was a good match.

If I had to criticise one thing (other than the blown spot here and there) it would be why Alicia wasn't the one working the match with these two. I would understand the whole "second in command" type thing if the commentators actually put it over that the "second in command" for all three teams were in together here- but they didn't. So not having Fox in this match didn't make much sense to me given she's by far and a way the best worked out of the three on "Team Bella".

John Cena v Kevin Owens- US Title
Owens was not in any way, shape or form buried last night. Let's get that out of the way right off the bat. This match was great- the only massive criticism I can have for it is that it wasn't as good as the other two. But the other two matches are easily Match of the Year Contenders and if you put 99% of matches that happen this year up against those two matches they won't be as good.

For the record I wouldn't have had Owens tap- but I'm not 100% against it as seemingly everyone was last night. I'd have preferred him to be Pinned after the Super AA without a doubt, but the angle all in all was fine. It's not funny- but it's still something of note, I explained in-depth exactly why Kevin Owens had absolutely no chance of winning the Title in my Predictions Blog yesterday- and as much as fans want to get on board with NXT (and rightly so) I can guarantee you the reasons discussed in my Predictions were the main reasoning behind Owens not winning last night.

Unless I've missed something the STF is supposed to put strain on the Lower-Back as well as being a Choke so I don't even really mind Owens tapped given the fact he'd taken AAs, Super AAs and everything in between. If that was the end of the feud I'll be slightly more annoyed- but like I said last night and in my Predictions I honestly don't think it is, and with everyone major apart from Ambrose in a feud I can't see who Cena would face other than Owens adding in Cesaro for a Triple Threat and everyone's happy.

The Miz Promo
I really liked this, Miz in terms of being an absolute pure-heel is pretty much the best the WWE has to offer. The way Miz was talking you knew someone was going to come out and kill him , and it was Big Show for YET ANOTHER FUCKING TURN. One day Big Show is going to turn on himself and just cave in on himself.

Seth Rollins v Brock Lesnar- WWE WHC
This is such a weird "match" to try and review. What we got for the actual match portion was fine- I liked it, they played up Brock as the Indestructible Beast and Rollins as the Opportunist/Cowardly Heel. Then it all went incredibly strange.

I'm pretty sure the majority of fans last night were expecting Taker to show up at some point, even the "casual" fans will most likely have heard a rumour here or there about it- it's pretty much the worst kept secret the WWEs had since their last "surprise". What I'll say with certainty was we weren't expecting Taker to show up with about 20 Minutes left on the show, that made me look back at the match and in hindsight it was stupidly rushed.

Taker is not going to be a Heel, that's a fact- they might try and push him as one I'm not saying they won't but there's no chance the crowd will boo Taker. As with my Cena/Owens stuff in my Predictions yesterday I explained exactly what was going to happen in this Main Event and the motivations of Taker not in any way being Heel-ish while still going after Brock. I've also seen people saying about how it doesn't make sense to have a Rematch so long after and about Taker facing Bray. To that I'll say within story Brock pretty much killed Taker (and in real life mind you) so Taker needed the Bray match (also, Bray called Taker out- Taker within story was presumably happy to stay dead) to somewhat get his confidence back- and now he's going after Brock again for his vengeance. Is that such a hard story to understand? Also, for the people saying "Well where was Rollins?", Really? You're seriously acting like you've never seen this type of finish before? If you really want an explanation Rollins (and the Ref) heard the gong and bolted because they knew shit was about to go down and they didn't want to get in the way. Happy now?

Brock v Taker doesn't have to be Heel v Babyface- Brock is just Brock, literally nothing about his character has changed- it's just given the feud he's been in with Rollins it's been more acceptable to cheer for him. In short, apart from the PPV ending stupidly early and the match feeling a bit rushed I don't see why anyone's complaining- and for the record I'd be expecting a similar finish at Summerslam with Sting playing the role of Taker, Brock being Rollins and Taker being Brock.

This PPV was interesting, there was such a level of expectation on it that I'm not entirely sure it lived up to billing. That said in terms of a "B PPV" which at the end of the day is what Battleground is it was perfectly fine and with everything that happened there's definitely interest in tonight's RAW.

Thanks for reading as always, and thanks to everyone who read my Predictions yesterday- I'm not entirely sure why but it became one of my most read posts, and my most read Wrestling related post, so thanks for that and I hope that support continues. I hope you'll be tagging along on Twitter tonight for RAW where WWE will be sure to kill dead any buzz there is after the PPV last night and then come back here for the RAW Review tomorrow! I know we're all upset about one outcome on the PPV last night, but the Power of Positivity will prevail NEW... DAY ROCKS, NEW... DAY ROCKS, NEW... DAY ROCKS.

Battleground Predictions

Hello! It's another post, and we're here for the Battleground Predictions. This PPV is a rare case in that there's no outcome that's blatantly obvious as there is on most PPVs nowadays. I don't know if that's necessarily a good thing in some cases- but it definitely makes the PPV tonight interesting. Going into the year I don't think anyone would have looked at Battleground and thought this PPV was going to be in any way interesting and/or compelling- but here we are, and with all of the Rumours flying around I'd argue that this is up there with the most hyped shows of the year.

First Prediction for this show, there'll be at least 2 matches that aren't on the Announced Card coming off the back of this weeks TV. If I had to guess there'll be another Stardust match so most likely against Neville to put him over heading into Summerslam season when he's feuding with the Amell guy. Then I'd be massively shocked if we didn't get a Cesaro match of some sort, which'll most likely be against Rusev or just throw in Ambrose for the sake of it and have a Triple Threat- however as I'll discuss a bit later on Ambrose may have a non-match role to play on the show. There could also be a Divas Match somewhere on the card although I'm hoping they hold off and have the first match of the "Divas Revolution" mean something.

Right then, there's a lot to talk about so let's get on with the slightly less aimless rambling.

Pre-Show: R-Truth v King Barrett
The first of the unclear matches of the night, and this isn't because we've had such a great build and as a result it could go either way. It's simply because they've booked Barrett so badly since he won the King of the Ring I have no faith in the WWE to actually have him win with the Crown on the line. On top of that I bet Vince is pissing himself every time R-Truth comes out and he thinks it's the best thing ever with the Burger King Crown and the Duvet. This combined with the fact the Babyface always wins on the Pre-Show, especially if we get something along the lines of a Stardust v Neville match to get some heat back on Stardust a Babyface Win will be needed on the Pre-Show. While I'm praying that it goes the other way, I think tonight will start the first official day of the reign of King What's Up?
Winner: R-Truth

New Day v Primetime Players- Tag Titles
I thought this was a straightforward match, now that it's been firmly established that Titus is a nice Dad and that's blown over I thought it was a given New Day would get the belts back on the PPV tonight, I then went on to PaddyPower to put my usual PPV accumulator on and it turns out the Primetime Players are the (marginal) favourites. Granted odds don't mean much until the "smart money" comes in- but it's still something. That said even with Titus being a nice Dad there's surely no way they see more long-term value in the Primetime Players than The New Day given you could seriously put up a solid case for New Day being the best act in the company at one point. That combined with the complete lack of Heel Tag-Teams surely means New Day will win- and if they don't it'll without a doubt be the thing that pisses me off most tonight bar none.
Winner: New Day

Sheamus v Randy Orton
This is another interesting one, that really should be clear-cut but given their booking history with Money in the Bank winners it could just as easily go the other way. Randy Orton is in arguably the weirdest position in the company at present because there's no chance he'll be in the Main Event again any time soon- but at the same time he's too big a star to go after the IC Title. You can make the argument that Cena dropped down- but that was only because the storyline made sense in terms of Cena being Mr. USA who wanted to vanquish the evil Rusev- the stuff with the US Title came later.

That said Sheamus really needs this win and if it were entirely up to me booking wise I'd have Sheamus destroy Orton to set-up a big blow-off match at Summerslam before moving onto what I'd label the "Sheamus Cash-In" era where he'll start a feud with whoever's got the Belt and tease cashing in before eventually doing so to peak interest (to an extent) during the usual Autumn lull before we get around to the Rumble and Wrestlemania season.
Winner: Sheamus

Bray Wyatt v Roman Reigns
This and the following two matches honestly are impossible to call, for so many different reasons. This match is also the match that'll pretty much tell us where they're going later on in the show and for Summerslam- if Roman wins clean then he's headed for the Summerslam Main Event most likely against Brock, if Bray wins then the feud will go on and there'll be an entirely different plan for the Main Event picture of Summerslam. You can call this a gut feeling or whatever- but I don't think they're willing to expose Roman like they did for Mania this quickly, and it's for that reason that I think he'll be kept in the Upper-Midcard for now.

The question then becomes how on earth is Bray going to over without making Roman look like a fool. Enter Dean Ambrose. I didn't articulate it in my RAW Review because there were bigger fish to fry that day with everything that went on during RAW. I've got a really weird feeling they're setting it up for Ambrose to turn on Roman, and with Reigns basically ignoring what Ambrose presumably wanted in a match with Bray it may well have gotten to breaking point in that relationship. Even if they don't go down the route of an Ambrose turn- I can still see Bray winning in some way with shenanigans to either further the feud between the two, or branch off to an Ambrose/Reigns one.
Winner: Bray Wyatt

John Cena v Kevin Owens- US Title
A lot of people seem to think it's a given that Kevin Owens wins tonight. As you may have guessed if you regularly read my Predictions and/or have worked out from the way I've laid out the matches in the Headers thus far I don't think that's the case- and I'm entirely fine with Cena winning. But first, let me explain why I don't think Owens will win- and it's not just for the "Cena Wins LOL" stuff. I also can't wait for the reaction if Cena does win saying that Owens was buried- in fact it's for that reason I want it to happen more. I think it's widely accepted that Owens is Main Roster now, and after the Summerslam NYC NXT thing he'll be exclusive to the Main Roster. With that in mind- and granted they've done a good job of raising awareness of the NXT Belt and the raising the prestige of the US Title when the Title's up for grabs the US Title outranks the NXT Title every time. That's a fact. So why the hell would the US Champion go after the NXT Title and lose. That'd effectively make Cena look worse than Owens because he lost, and then in turn Balor who hasn't even made his debut yet.

You can make the argument that I'm thinking too much about it- but I don't see why tonight has to be the end to the Cena/Owens feud, because it's one of those lightning in a bottle feuds- and one thing we know with WWE is they like to get every last drop out of feuds like this one. I don't see why they can't add Cesaro to the full dynamic of the feud for Summerslam and then have Owens pin Cesaro at Summerslam to protect Cena, still have Balor go over and get the Belt on Owens. It's with all of this in mind that I'm saying...
Winner: John Cena

Seth Rollins v Brock Lesnar- WWE WHC Match
The possibilities for this match are nearly endless. What with the Undertaker rumours, the Sting rumours and then all of the other stuff like the obvious Sheamus angle, a possible Kane involvement. The list truly goes on for ages. The thing is we won't even get an inkling as to what direction they're going for this match until the Bell Rings to end the Reigns v Wyatt match. I personally can't see why Rollins would drop the Title at this stage, especially to Brock unless the plan is for Brock to immediately drop the Title to Roman which is possible, but at the same time as I've already said I can't see happening.

The question then comes as to what'll happen in order to protect Brock while still keeping the Belt on Seth. I think it'd be hilarious if Kane crashed the Main Event to end the show like Big Show did during that Orton v Bryan match- but I don't think that'll happen.

The outside shout that could happen what with Rollins basically being left on his own with J&J out and Rollins seemingly putting paid to Kane is to have Heyman turn on Brock and align with Seth. This is something I've been thinking of for a while now, and I'd love it. Paul Heyman is great when he's doing his Babyface Promos like he has done recently, but as a Heel he is out of this world- and the heat on Heyman would be Nuclear if he turns on Brock. Brock, is well... Brock he doesn't need to talk to get over, he just has to come in and fuck shit up between now and Summerslam.

Like I said on Monday, I think the perhaps obvious angle coming off the back of Monday is Kane to return under the Mask with a vengeance. I personally would hold off on that angle until after Summerslam to actually make it mean something and sell Kane's ankle injury as something serious- but you can't rule Kane interference out in some way or another completely.

Sting is the wildcard, I personally can't see an obvious way he'd slot into the scene as Taker does with the seemingly unresolved Brock angle. You could make the argument that Seth represents the Authority in a way- but that angle for me was resolved with the handshake after the best and most fun completely overbooked, not making sense mess ever at Mania. I don't know how they'd work this- and it's for that reason I don't think it's likely, but I definitely won't complain if Sting does show up, because he's Sting.

Now we get onto what's seemingly become the main talking point heading into the PPV tonight. The Undertaker rumours as far as I can tell have come from one picture that showed Taker in great shape and the Observer got onto it and now it seems as though he's likely to be appearing. The question then becomes if Taker does show up, where do they go from there. There's people saying Sting and there's people saying Brock. The Sting one is interesting- but given they're trying to do 100k+ for Mania next year I think they're going to hold off on Taker/Sting and turn the attention to Taker/Lesnar. People may question the whole Babyface/Heel stuff with Taker and Brock, with Taker seemingly helping Seth win, but for me that's just a case of Seth being lucky, which entirely fits with the way they've booked Seth as Champion. The fact is Taker showing up will pop the crowd without a doubt, that doesn't mean that Brock is any less of a Babyface. I hate to even pigeon hole Brock as a Heel or a Babyface, he's just Brock Lesnar. In short, a Taker/Brock feud is likely.

So all of this is to say, Brock is about to win- *gong* Taker comes in and Tombstones Brock and does the One Knee Pose to end the show. I think that means Brock technically wins by DQ- which'd also help because it'll mean Brock still won't have been Pinned. They could of course do a Ref Bump or like Survivor Series last year just have the Refs be completely incompetent and not call for the Bell and Brock gets pinned. But for the sake of this it's a DQ.
Winner: Brock Lesnar (but Rollins still keeps the Belt)

That went a bit longer than expected, I think I've covered all the major angles for the Main Event- which guarantees what'll actually happen will be completely different and Sheamus will Cash-In to make it a Triple Threat and pin Brock for the sole purpose of making the Internet explode.

Thanks for reading as always, I think the fact I've written as much as I have for this event shows how much hype there is for it- and for once it's actually in part due to what's actually taken place on TV. The Rollins/Brock angle has been handles almost as well as it could have been and the angle on Monday was pretty much perfect. Then you've got the Cena/Owens stuff which promises to deliver and all of the other stuff- in short I've got pretty high expectations for tonight, I'd even go as far to say that this is the event with the most expectation going into it all year- because the build for Mania was horrid. Thanks again for reading, I hope you'll join me tonight on Twitter for some top banter- and then come back here tomorrow for the Review. Thanks again for reading, and let's all not lose sight of the big picture here. If New Day Loses We Riot.

Destination Impact Review: 15th July

Hello! The Impact Reviews are back baybay! Like I said in my RAW Review I only really started feeling well on Wednesday Night so I figured I may as well just take the week off so to speak and come back this week better than ever. If you missed my RAW Review or Tough Enough Burial I'd check those out because I think they're pretty good this week.

Also, sorry in advance to those of you who read this when it first comes up at 6- I know there's some of you. Between Total Divas, Suits and of course ROH, NXT and TNA I only got to bed around 6am(ish) last night and I only woke up about Quarter Past 5 today. I know this doesn't affect all of you- but I just wanted to throw it out there. Anyway, there's no time to waste- no really there isn't, I'm trying to write this Review and get it up ASAP so let's get this Review done!

Dixie Carter's "Big" Announcement
I missed the first bit of this because I couldn't find a Stream that worked at first- but I tuned in and Dixie was trying to act sincere. Dixie and Act should never be in the same sentence. I don't know why you'd be reading a Review if you want to avoid Spoilers of last night's happenings but just in case SPOILER like anyone actually gives a damn about TNA- the new GM is Bully Ray. That's right Dixie Carter has put someone in charge who made it his mission to put her through a Table, Succeeded, Broke her Back and put her out for a year. But let's take that side complete out of the equation- it's still a huge anti-climax. Yes, I'd read the Spoilers so I knew what was coming- but I know there's some out there who avoid Spoilers like the Plague (Maybe the Chesterfield Plague) and the big hyped up announcement was someone who was on TNA TV roughly 2 Months ago. If it was someone genuinely shocking like someone who's name has recently been associated with WWE or ROH this'd be a different matter, but it wasn't and this whole segment just fell flat.

20 Man Battle Royal
The only things I took from this was that I could clearly see Hernandez, presumably because Battle Royals are too hard to edit around so TNA might end up getting a lawsuit for some of their non-existent money. If you missed the Hernandez story yesterday I'd highly recommend seeking it out- it's LOLTNA at it's best. The next thing I took from this was that at a guess I'd say about half of the people in the Battle Royal are gone from the Company now- so this was some weird Sixth Sense stuff where half of them are already dead. Not Bram though! He's signed a new Multi-Year Deal! Oh Yeah, Galloway Won.

Mr Anderson contemplates his Future
This whole will "X" retire angle is fine under the right circumstances. The Problem is, Nobody cares about Mr Anderson. I've been watching a load of TNA around 2010/11 lately in preparation for a Mega-Blog around September time if TNA does indeed get cancelled and that's made me care even less about Anderson because he was the least likeable Babyface ever when they were trying to basically push him as TNA's Stone Cold. To give you an idea of how much I don't care about Anderson, I'd genuinely forgotten they did the angle with Bram last week- and I love Bram.

Tigre Uno v Grado v DJ Z v Rockstar Spud
They're doing this weird angle where Tigre Uno calls out Donald Trump next week. I'm just going to throw it out there- I don't think Donald Trump watches or cares about TNA. The match itself was fine but the fact the commentary was focused on the Uno/Trump thing massively detracted from it all.

Brooke v Taryn Terrell- Knockouts Title
We had this really weird, well not weird but- something Vignette with Taryn before when she spoke like she was some sort of Primary School teacher. A Lesbian, Psycho-Bitch Primary School teacher. The match was really "meh" the Gail Kim stuff was a bit strange. I get they're trying to sell us on a darker Gail Kim, but the character still has a long, long way to go before I get on board with it. The thing is, surely the goal of the Knockouts should be to get the Title, Correct? So to have Gail Kim come in and get the Title on a Babyface makes no sense to me- because it's either going to be a Babyface/Babyface feud for the Belt or Gail will be inserted into a Triple Threat dynamic with Brooke and Taryn both of which she can't afford to lose in if they want her new character to get over. In short they've massively booked themselves into a corner- and with TNA's track record I've got no faith in them to work out a solution.

Kurt Angle's Announcement
The tumour stuff is a shame, but I can't say I'm not happy that Angle is getting some time off- even if it is for Surgery because his Body must be a complete wreck. I love Eric Young any time, and this was a good way for Angle to go out and give a rub to someone. Although looking back I would have liked Angle to cut a Promo saying that he's been in the Olympics etc. and people call him a hero- but the true Hero is Melendez *brings out Melendez* and says that Melendez is the guy everyone should be cheering for and basically give the rub to Melendez on his way out. This'd of course set-up Melendez going on a bit of a run, or turning Heel on Angle once Angle does come back for his match with EC3. The other interesting thing was the "whenever I want" term used for Angle's match with EC3 which to me makes it sound a bit like Money in the Bank. But Yeah, EY is great.

The Magnus/Storm stuff was presumably the segment the BDC were involved in- like I said, if you haven't already heard the Hernandez story I'd look it up.

EC3 v Drew Galloway- TNA WHC
*sigh* I really like both guys involved- I think I've made that abundantly clear. But what in the actual hell was that finish? I genuinely am having trouble finding a way to explain the finish. Basically it was the usual Tyrus stuff during EC3 matches- which then meant Eli Drake went down to ringside to "Even the Odds" firstly, How is a one-legged Drake supposed to be on a level playing field with Tyrus? Also, with what happened- Why would Drake make the save in the first place? The turn by Drake was almost stupidly obvious- even if you hadn't read the Spoilers you had that weird little Backstage thing but this was just an overbooked mess. Are we 100% sure Vince Russo is gone?

Last Nights Impact was really weird, it's not that I hated it- or even disliked it but there was nothing on the show that really got me into it like there usually is on a TNA show.

Thanks for reading as always, like I said for those of you who read these when it first comes out don't blame me- Blame Total Divas. Like I said though- Thanks for reading, I'm not entirely sure what post I'm going to bring out tomorrow- but I should be putting something out unless I wake up stupidly late again so stay tuned for that. Thanks again for reading- and let's all hope we see more of Norv Fernum.

Tough Enough: The Burial

Hello! It's two posts in consecutive days, I know- I'm as shocked as you are. What with the Divas Division seemingly getting a push now with some of the right people involved, to put it simply- I need a new toy to bury deep beneath the Earth. Unfortunately for Tough Enough I've set my sights on it- and it'll NEVER EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER BE THE SAME... AGAIN.

I think it's only fair I start my breaking down the Tough Enough Cast for this year and the Character they're portraying on the show.
Patrick- Smark, Instantly #1 Babyface, Weirdly reminds me of Jay Lethal
Sara Lee- Vanellope from Wreck-It Ralph before she could Race
Mada- Big Massive Guy who thinks he's Yugi Moto
Josh- A Yeti with a Shit British Accent
Amanda- Stereotypical Blonde
Giorgia- Vanilla Midget
ZZ- Bray Wyatt if Bray Wyatt was a Goofy Babyface
Tanner- MMA Guy who doesn't give a fuck about Wrestling
Chelsea- Homewrecker

Gabi- Clueless Brazilian who's clearly married her Husband for the Money
Daria- Lesbian MMA Girl
Dianna- #1 Bitch
Alex- Philosopher
Hank- I can't remember anything about this bloke

It's pretty much the story of this series that Patrick is the "Wrestling Guy", it's funny because I saw his Audition Video on a Thread on Reddit when Tough Enough was first announced and I liked him, you might as well give him the 250k Contract on the Guys side already because there's no chance Patrick goes even if he ends up in the Bottom 3 (Unless Bryan Picks Him) and I think the Producers are basically acknowledging this by shifting the focus over to Sara Lee who'll be the big development story now. The problem with this Cast is; there's way too many of the same person in this. I don't personally like El Torito, but I understand that kids must love him because he's basically their size and he's flying around and killing the wrestlers. There isn't a good variety of people, there's ZZ who's Fat, Sara Lee who's Tiny and then the rest are all in great shape and in the Womens case Fitness Models. There's hardly any variety to engage the audience with because "X" is "just like me".

Then we get onto the actual format issues, Tough Enough is an Hour Long Show- let's say for the sake of argument that there's 15 Minutes of Adverts in the show that's 45 Minutes to feature Chris Jericho, Renee Young, Lita, Billy Gunn, Booker T, Paige, Hulk Hogan, Daniel Bryan, The Special Guest for the week and all of the contestants. In short- it's a complete clusterfuck, and what we end up with is nobody getting a significant spotlight- and the only person who's really stood out as far as Tough Enough as a standalone goes is Paige, and that's because she's been told be as bitchy as possible.

Now we get onto the biggest issue with the format I've had, this show is at it's core 14 people trying to get a Contract to be a Wrestler (or Sports Entertainer)- and before last night in 4 weeks we'd had 1 segment where we actually saw any kind of in-ring training, and it was them taking bumps (badly). The Austin Series left a lot to be desired, but the emphasis was definitely on the in-ring aspect without a shadow of a doubt- this Tough Enough has been anything but. Instead of watching Wrestling Training in a show about people wanting to become a Wrestler we've seen among other things- A Load of Arguments that don't even make sense, Tanner trying to chat up the Girls, Conversations about ZZ's Dick, Endless arguments about Fake Boobs and the list goes on.

All of this would be fine- and I'd gladly accept that it's me, were it not for the fact that this series Ratings Wise has completely flopped, especially when you compare it to the Austin Series. It's getting around a 0.3-0.4 and roughly 1-1.2 Million Viewers per episode. Granted the Austin Series came out directly after a Wrestlemania unless I remember that wrong but it's consistently doing about Half (if that) of the Austin Series. That simply put isn't good enough and is proof that I'm right in saying the format simply doesn't work or translate across on TV.

Now we get onto one of the big issues I've got with this series- Jericho. I like Jericho as a Wrestler, he's come off as a bit of a dick as a person but as a wrestler he's great so I can stomach it to an extent. But Jericho hosting this series has been a complete abortion, Austin had this weird charisma (Shocker Stone Cold Steve Austin has Charisma) that pretty much became the glue of the show and to an extent covered for the complete lack of personality on show from pretty much everyone (apart from Luke). Jericho's got this weird game-show host type mentality that doesn't work at all and pretty much just get's very, very annoying. In short Jericho doesn't make a good TV host. You know who does make a good host and anchor for a show? Renee Young. Renee's misuse during this series of Tough Enough has infuriated me, because she's basically Jericho's sidekick and Jericho hardly get's any airtime as it is. You could make the argument that they want a Wrestler hosting the show- Ok then, Get Miz. Tough Enough is one of the low points of my TV viewing each week- up there with Total Divas and Masterchef Australia episodes that don't feature Reynold heavily. Tough Talk on the other hand is great. It's funny, and the competitors can actually get their personalities across because of the way Miz anchors the show and facilitates said personality getting across.

I don't claim to know the ins and outs of US TV- but is there a Female Anchor/Host of any Prime-Time widely accessible show in America? With WWE seemingly trying to go down the "Woman Empowerment" route as of late surely they would have had Renee in there because if nothing else it's something to shout about from a publicity point of view. Instead they've got Renee going down to the Performance Center every week for I'd guess about 30 Seconds of Airtime that could just as easily be recorded in a studio.

Then we get onto an issue I have just with "Reality" shows in general- they're not in any way reality. Bryan even called that out on one of the Tough Talk episodes, the prime example is the Paige/Sara Lee angle- because that's what it is, it's an angle designed to get Sara Lee over and it's working judging by the voting percentages. The Promo thing where Sara Lee had to cut a Promo on Paige was so obviously set-up to be Sara Lee's breakout moment- I was expecting the full Silent Rage moment where Sara Lee would just go from a little mouse to a lion who was having Paige piss herself- it wasn't quite that, but it was a pretty good Promo. That combined with the way they edited the Bodyslam type thing where they made it come off as everyone else did it first try and then Sara Lee was shit- if that was the case more power to them, but I highly doubt it. The whole deck stacked against "???" is such a played out concept I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if they told her to deliberately be bad and then one week she's amazing- I'm not saying she's going to be the next Shelton Benjamin (deserved more) athleticism wise but I just don't trust "Reality" TV to actually be up front with me about anything.

I was actually quite excited for this series of Tough Enough- the school of hard knocks type Network Prequel type thing they did had enthused me quite a lot, because I thought it'd be a very gritty reality show where there'd literally be blood, sweat and tears which would also feature characters you wanted to get behind like that bloke who lost his leg. In it's place we've gotten a very sterilised reality show which is just begging for people to turn off in some places and judging by the ratings many people have done just that. For the record I think Patrick'll win the Mens side and then it's between Sara Lee and Giorgia for the Girls side.

Like I've said constantly I always approach things with an open mind- and like I said going into it with the Network special I was actually pretty excited for it- but it's massively failed to live up to expectations and it'll probably be another 4 Years until we get another one. I know this isn't a unique idea, but I genuinely would have preferred them to either follow around new NXT recruits or WWE to simply get 14 Indy Wrestlers and put them in all of these wacky challenges because then you can use the excuse of they know the basics of how to wrestle already and you don't want to see that. Apart from Patrick, Josh and Sara Lee I don't think we've seen anyone get any feedback positive or negative when it comes to their in-ring performance so it's almost impossible for a Wrestling Fan who wants to see Wrestling to find someone to vote for in the Bottom Three week-to-week.

Thanks for reading as always, the Impact Reviews are back tomorrow so stay tuned for that- and I'd actually be interested to hear from anyone of you who's read this who disagrees with me. I'm always happy to hear opinions and I'm genuinely curious as to what a Tough Enough defender would hang their hats on. Thanks again for reading, and remember Knowledge means Nothing.

RAW Review: 13th July

Hello! The RAW Reviews are back baybay! It's been too long, if you weren't following along on Twitter around this time last week I'll give you a short explanation, basically I was ill and I only really started feeling better Wednesday Night so I thought I'd just write last week off and start again fresh this week- and now here we are! Last Weeks RAW wasn't exactly anything to write home about so the Review would have been more aimless rambling, but I couldn't miss it two weeks in a row- so here's some aimless rambling.

Rollins, Kane, Heyman & Brock Promo
I liked this segment without loving it. Any Promo segment with Heyman is going to be great, let's be honest- but for me last night was the first time in a while Heyman started rambling a bit and going on longer than what was necessary which pretty much everyone apart from Heyman does almost weekly. The back and forth with Kane was fine although looking back across the whole show it doesn't necessarily make sense that they did it- but the crowd got into it, and at the end of the day that's what matters.

Randy Orton & Ryback v Sheamus & Big Show
This match made me laugh, solely for the reason that Cole (clearly with Vince in his Ear) called the four guys involved a "Four Premier Superstars" and billed this as a "Main Event Tag Match". Even the most hardened of Big Show fans would acknowledge that those statements don't apply to him. The match was- well Orton & Ryback v Sheamus & Big Show, My expectations weren't high- and they were largely met, the only real highlight was Miz on Commentary acting as though Marine 4 was a film to be proud of- I watched it the other day, and it's one of those films that you can't un-see.

Bray Wyatt v Dean Ambrose
At least Ambrose didn't have to get massively dressed up to go out there and do nothing. I liked the Reigns brawl just because of the way it played out with Reigns getting the upper-hand without killing Bray completely. Putting someone like Reigns out there with the way he looks and having him beat the hell out of people is never not going to get over, and in terms of Summerslam and the Rollins/Lesnar outcome the Reigns match and the clean (or not) outcome will give us a massive indication as to where they're heading for Summerslam and by proxy the likely outcome for the Main Event.

"Giving Divas A Chance"
This was a really cool moment- it's something 99% of people have been clamouring for and we finally got it. I think whenever the NXT Women did show up that was going to be the case and the way it's worked out it's presumably WWEs answer to the King of the Trios tournament coming up in September. In short I loved the reveal and in my opinion the right NXT Women have come up because we need to learn if Bayley can flourish in a proper featured role before she get's the call and Bayley still being down there will also give somewhat of a place to aim for, for the likes of Dana, Alexa and Carmella as well as the "New Girls".

I saw some people complaining about Stephanie being the one to announce it- and at the point before Becky came out I was in that camp because she managed to completely bury The Bellas and Paige in the space of about two minutes. However I think the closest thing I can compare this to is the Vince video when he basically announced the Attitude Era- in that it' legitimised the "movement" and sent out a clear message as to where they were going to go, I'd have preferred Triple H to do it- because as I've repeatedly said the Women in NXT are pretty much Triple H's project- but I do understand why Stephanie was the one to do it.

Like I said, I did love the reveals and all of that- however. The 9 Woman Brawl was almost comically bad in places- some of the selling was laughable, this isn't me singling Nikki out because she's Nikki it just stuck with me- someone kicked her in the Stomach and for want of a better way to describe it she casually sat down. I also felt the brawl went a bit too long for what it was- but we got the cool Submission Spot so that I can somewhat deal with. I also didn't get why Sasha Banks didn't come out with the NXT Womens Title, I get that they're maybe going to have Sasha play somewhat of an understudy to Naomi at first- but given that Stephanie introduced her as the NXT Womens Champion it didn't really make sense to me.

With all of that in mind I did love this segment- and you only have to see how much I've written about this segment to see the effect it's had in re-energising the fans interest in the Division.

Also, Why the hell did they end the segment with the bloody Total Divas theme.

(Quick Aside, If you missed it the first time- go back and watch Charlotte's Entrance and listen to Cole's voice crack when he does the "Woooooo").

Primetime Players & Mark Henry v New Day
The match was fine, but can someone explain the logic of having the one person who's not on the PPV being the one to pick up the win? I'll talk about it more in my Predictions- but surely New Day have to get the Belts back on Sunday, now that the Titus being a nice Dad thing has died down completely there's no reason for them not to get the Belts back.

R-Truth v King Barrett
I didn't like this at the time, I still don't- but looking back at the show as a whole this was perfectly placed to give the crowd a bit of a breather and be some comedic (term used loosely) relief. Combine that with the fact this feud is 99% going to be over after Battleground makes this segment not a complete waste.

Shoesev v Cesaro v Kevin Owens
If it were possible to elevate the US Title even further this is exactly what this match did. I'm not going to make the generic comment of "Cesaro's grabbed a Brass Ring" or whatever- because to paraphrase Punk the "Brass Rings" are completely imaginary. Vince will only let the people who he wants truly get over and stay there, that said if Cesaro keeps churning out matches like this- and the crowd keep reacting to him the way they have done it'll be almost impossible for Vince to ignore it. The match didn't really click for me at first- which was why I was questioning the "This is Awesome" chants surfacing when they did- the Chant has lost all meaning, but by the end the match was worthy of said chant. This match was a near perfect demonstration of how to get everyone in a match over while still having a clear and decisive winner.

John Cena v Shoesev- US Title
It was last week where I said thank god that they actually had Rusev be a Heel, this week- well what with Rusev's just deadpan humour and his hilarious lines when it comes to Owens, combined with the fact Rusev was definitely the sympathetic babyface in this match means we're definitely back to the confusing middle ground, but I don't really care. I never wish injury on anyone but after his Cena feud Rusev needed the time to regroup and his injury was definitely a blessing in disguise for him.

As I'll talk about a bit later on- by normal booking law the fact Owens got the upper-hand tonight means he's losing at the PPV, and depending on how they do it (if Cena does win) I won't necessarily mind it because Cena's Open Challenge continues to be one of, if not the highlight of RAW consistently.

Tough Enough Competitor thing
This was really strange- because surely they should have done this 3 or 4 weeks ago to get the audience familiarised with the whole cast. I'm aiming to get a post out every day this week as somewhat of an apology for effectively taking last week off, and one of them is going to be looking at just how much of a fuck up this season of Tough Enough has been on all levels. But hey, we got to see Lita.

Stardust v Neville
Firstly, I loved the comic-book presentation graphic for this match- and with that Amell bloke coming in presumably that's why they're doing it as such. It weirdly reminded me of Samuel Shaw- because there was that TNA event where he did the drawings for all of the match graphics. The match was fine and that's all that can really be said about the match.

I saw a lot- and by a lot I mean 99% of people bitching about the fact Stardust still exists- but I'm actually happy that they didn't just drop the gimmick and without knowing for definite I'd assume Cody said he wants to see the Character through. I always cite the Mysterio Title Win after Eddie died as my example of a "Dead Person Push" in that someone close to someone who's recently died get's a push for no other reason than a combination of sympathy/pity. I love Mysterio- but that was the only reason he won the belt at that time, so for me I'm perfectly happy for them to continue where the Stardust character was going with the Amell guy at Summerslam and then coming off the back of that I'd assume/hope we start to get the transition back into Cody Rhodes and he get's a mega push, because with all of the stupid gimmicks he's been saddled with and made work he deserves the World Title for that reason- not because Dusty died.

Brock & Rollins Contract Signing
This was a near perfect end of build for this feud- I'm not sure what the significance of the Axe Handle was- especially if they're building to Seth & Triple H I'd have just had Rollins use a Sledgehammer, because the Axe Handle is just a shite weapon to use. As with the Rusev match earlier this segment was a perfect example of getting everyone where they needed to be and getting them over (apart from Kane). Brock looked like- well Brock and Rollins looked like the wounded animal so to speak- but in turn that making him more vicious and ruthless. I'm assuming they're going to use the Kane angle to write him off for the time being, most likely through until the RAW after Summerslam where he'll return and be Brutal Demon Kane who wants to kill Rollins and burn him alive.

This RAW (while having a few low points) was the best RAW in a while, I don't know if it's better than the RAW after Mania- but the 3rd Hour of the RAW after Mania was so bad this may have overtaken it. I said it on Twitter last night, who'd have thought having Wrestling and Wrestlers on a show where people tune in to watch Wrestling would get over?

Thanks for reading as always, Like I said I'm aiming to get a post out every day this week- so keep coming back every day for the varied posts leading up to Battleground on Sunday and beyond. Thanks again for reading- with Becky Lynch and Paige teaming I feel it's only fitting that I leave you with what is going to be theirs (and Charlotte's Entrance).
